Dear Best Friend,

Where can I begin?

I know you’re not a huge fan of reading long spiels so I’ll keep this short.

Years of friendship and I’m not sure if I’ve told you that I love you dearly. You’re one of the few people I hold close and will fight until my last breath to keep in my life. There’s not much I wouldn’t do for you. But of course you know there is a handful of issues I’m always going to be up in the air and stubborn about. You’ll just have to deal.

Thank you for being one of my oldest friends. For standing by me when I felt so alone and for keeping me calm when every seems to be going downhill fast. I can’t thank you enough. I also wanted to apologize for our high school days. There for many times where we lost touch and didn’t really talk. However, I love that our friendship isn’t defined by the amount of time we spend apart but rather how easy it is to just pick up where we left off. I’m so proud of the man you’re becoming and I know it’s been difficult to find your way. You’ve been through a lot and your happiness has been shifting up and down lately but I admire you so much for always keeping a smile on your face.

I can still remember promising to be in each other’s lives for as long as possible. I hope you’re always in my life and that I can be part of yours. Please continue to be one of the best guys I know and please always stay by my side. I’m not sure I could get through this rollercoaster of a life without you. You’ve been there for everything and I hope you’re there for everything that comes. I can only pray that I’ve impacted your life as much as you’ve changed mine.

So thank you again. For loving me for me and for always standing up for me when I can’t do it for myself. Most importantly, thank you for making me a better person. You’ve put so much into perspective for me and I can’t show you how grateful I am. I may not say it often but know that I love you and that I only ever want the best for you. May you find happiness in all your ventures in life.

I hope you have an amazing birthday. And if you’re not doing anything, I’ll happily take you to lunch or something. Happy 21st, be smart and safe!
